Having received a little bear doll souvenir, the tiredness vanished – all of us smiled in gratitude.
It was a sunny morning. What we saw around us were big crowds with people walking steadily beside the endless shoreline. It was strenuous for all of us, indeed, as the sun had been shining over our heads for an hour or two. Suddenly we heard some cheering from some familiar faces – we found that they were our teachers. "Keep on going! You guys are so great!" We recognized Mr. Schwedersky at once. He greeted us and cheered for us, too. However, he walked so fast that he soon disappeared from our sight and we couldn’t see him till the following school day.
We walked down a long way, leaving the serene scenery behind.. Our sweat kept on dropping to our shoulders and made us drench. The destination became closer to our views.
"You guys have eventually arrived," the helpers, who had arrived long time ago, grinned at us, stamping some ink on our yellow card. They fished in some huge boxes and handed us each a little bear doll.
As soon as we were on the way home, we sank into thoughts. We all thought about how amazing the trip was. After all, the walkathon is a such a memorable event!. We really hope that we could join campaigns like this in the future.
