'It is with God's grace that MST has fared well in the past 30 years, many of
our students, both present and past, have made great achievements and
contribution to society,' said Mr Kam Chi Fun, our acting principal in the
thanksgiving service celebrating the school's 30th anniversary. He also took
this opportunity to thank the descendents of Bishop Mok Sau Tseng for their
generosity financing the renovation of our basement, converting it into a
multi-purpose activity centre.
On 28th January, the school held its 30th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service Cum
Opening Ceremony of the Multi-purpose Activity Centre at the school hall. Among
the honorable guests were The Rt. Rev. Louis Tsui, Diocese of
Eastern Kowloon, Mr Poon Chun Kau and Dr. Chan Wong Lai Kuen, our former principals and
representatives from the Education and Manpower Bureau, School Council, MST Alumni
Association and Parent-Teacher Association. In the service, we sang hymns and
offered our prayers of thanks to God for His guidance and grace in the past 30
years. As a token of gratitude and well wishes, representatives of different
bodies brought forward a gift to the school. One of the gifts presented to the
school was a CD-Rom prepared by the teachers containing a collection of lesson
plans, which represented their dedication.
Another highlight of the day's program was the heartfelt sharing of Mrs Siu Tung
Woon Siu, our long serving teacher of 30 years, Ms Chan Mei Chun and Mr Chan Tze
Kin, alumni turned vice chairman of PTA and serving teacher respectively. They
spoke enthusiastically of their fond memories of the school and how they
cherished the days here in MST. Students were captured by the strong sense of
belonging and love they had for the school.
The subsequent ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Multi-purpose Activity Centre took
place in the newly renovated basement. Dr. Stephanie Lee Fung, the
great-grand-daughter of Bishop Mok Sau Tseng officiated the opening together
with other honorable guests. In her dedication speech, she recounted the life
history of her mother, Mrs. Lee Ko Wai Yan, and honoured her for the enthusiasm
and love she had for nurturing the young people.
When the day's program drew to an end, all students, teachers and guests
streamed out of the venue with their hearts filled with warmth and gratefulness. It is hoped the MST
students will fully utilize the activity centre and MST will continue to thrive
in the years to come.
