Sports Day 2001

Our school Sports Day, an annual highlight event, was held on 3rd and 4th January 2002 successfully. We were all attracted by the professional performance of the athletes.

During these two days, there were a variety of races held for boys and girls. A lot of students were extremely enthusiastic to take part in so that the races were divided into semi-final and final. On the first day, most of the races were just for selection into final. Only a few were final races, like 100m hurdles of all grades. When the races started, all the participants did their utmost to run and jump over all the hurdles. Unfortunately, some of them failed to do so and fell down on the tracks, but nobody laughed at or teased them. Instead we gave them encouragement. We appreciated their bravery and sportsmanship. We all applauded to encourage them to stand up again and continue their race.

The following day, the long-awaited event was the relay of staff and students. The sports field was filled with passion at once. We shouted out the names of our favourite teachers to give our support. Some teachers ・ performance was amazing. They are graceful and gentle in lessons, but, in fact, they are also good at sports. Our headmistress, Dr. Chan, was a good example. She performed well like a professional athlete in front of thousands of students and staff. We were proud of her. Certainly, the . Team of high-ranking staff ・ , which Dr Chan belonged to, won the race without any difficulties.

The Sports Day aims at giving us the message that . sportsmanship comes first, race comes second ・ . It also gives us a precious chance to relax and show our talents in sports. Here we must thank for the dedication of our sports teachers, Miss Leung and Mr. Kwong, to make seamless arrangements for this great annual activity.
