School has already started for a cycle. On 12th September 2006, just before all the conspicuous elections started, Prefects' Day had come first to be our earliest annual event in this academic year.
No one in MST would find the expression "I have a dream" unfamiliar, not only because it was a well-known quote from Martin Luther King, but also it was the slogan of our Prefect Nomination Campaign. When our schoolmates walked around the school campus these days, it was not difficult to spot the colourful posters posted all around.
In the assembly, our alumni, Mr. YEUNG Chi-pang, came back to be a guest speaker. YEUNG was the head prefect when he studied in MST. Receiving the unforgettable phone call in the summer vacation before he became a sixth former, YEUNG started to pick up the huge responsibility as the leader of the prefect group. He treated the post as an interest, a chance and a challenge. In that year, he tried his very best gathering the 80 prefects to work as a team. The experience helped him develop leadership techniques and inter-personal skills which inspire him to do well in his present occupation.
Yeung believed, being a prefect, one learns to take up responsibilities and be a self-disciplined person. All these count when we judge whether one is successful or not. Last but not least, YEUNG encouraged us to treasure what we have and seize every single chance to learn.
The Prefect Nomination Campaign has already ended and the audition will soon begin. We are all eager to see the new prefects in November and we do appreciate the studentsˇ¦ determination to contribute to school.
Meanwhile, the new conduct award scheme has already raised high standards among students. It is believed that all our schoolmates are able to behave well. At the beginning of the school year, it is really a brilliant time for all of us to recognize clearly what our duties are, make a promise and strive for it in the coming days.
