Apart from the Music Contest, Student-Teacher's Day and Sports Day, Paper Fashion Show is also one of the most popular and attractive activities. This year, this tradition was continually held on 28th May.
Paper Fashion Show aims at providing a chance for students to develop their creativity to design a wide range of fashionable clothes which are made of materials other than cloth. At the same time, it can build up those models' confidence to perform in front of thousands of eyes.
Given that this was a rare and valuable opportunity, a slew of students were willing to participate in this annual highlight. After the preliminary selection by Miss Tsang, our art teacher, ten teams were able to enter the finals on May 28.
That day after school, more than two hundred students returned from lunch to gather in the hall to attend Paper Fashion Show. This year's team composition was quite different from that of last year because none of the ten teams comprised Form six students. Instead, more and more junior students couldn't help showing their youthful enthusiasm and talents in designing clothes for others. But it didn't mean that these junior participants did worse than their senior counterparts. Their performance was extraordinarily outstanding.
During this Fashion Show, the hall was filled with laughter, cheer and applause, especially on extremely impressive clothes or models. According to the statement of judgment from Mr. Wong, our CYC teacher, being a model, one must show his confidence and give a good first impression to the audience, in order to attract them. In fact, a number of 'professional' models seemed to have catwalk on the stage as their occupation. For example, the Best Male Model in this show walked on the stage and showed the characteristic of his worn clothes naturally. His every action brought a great surprise to all of the audience. We were all proud of his excellent performance.
The prize giving ceremony was the climax of the Fashion Show. Everyone in the hall was quite anxious at the moment of announcing which teams were the winners. Those who won, of course, yelled delightedly. In contrast, the others were quite disappointed about the result. This is the message what this activity brought to all of us: 'If you want to succeed, you must pay hundred percent of efforts. However, doing your utmost may still lead to a failure.'
