Music Contest

At 7:30 in the morning on 23rd January, music was in the air and it ushered us in the magnificent annual music contest. The music was not played by chirping birds but our talented contestants. Early in the morning, they were already practicing hard, waiting for their show time.

Every year, our stage is elaborately decorated. This year, the stage was even more gorgeous that it was decorated like an amusement park! Entranced by the stunning background, we all cheered with excitement. The contest was then started with instrumental performances. This year, apart from the high quality piano performances, there were guitar duet, harmonica solo and even orchestral performance. They performed professionally with their great musical talent! The Harmonica Prince, well-known to all by his amazing harmonica performance last year, joined the contest again and blew our mind with his stunning techniques and beautiful melodies. Though he is the youngest contestant in the contest, he won the championship in the instrumental competition.

As for the solo singing part, the audience became more excited. Every performance was brilliant. Contestants seized this golden opportunity to bring their singing talent into full play and at the same time, to enjoy their own performances. The contestants¡¦ performances were tremendous so that audiences burst out applauding and cheering enthusiastically. Some of them had even prepared flags to support their classmates! The atmosphere in the hall raced to the climax when the group singing performances started. Two groups of Form Seven students ¡V the Samba Princes and the Samba Queens even danced on the stage! What amazed us most was that all of them sang well and danced skillfully on stage. Their performances were followed by a burst of applause ¡V we couldn¡¦t help crying out ¡¥Encore¡¦!

Though the competition had come to the end, it seemed that our spirit didn¡¦t stop rising. Both our alumni and the Student Union danced energetically on the stage. All of us were in an ecstasy of joy that ¡¥Bravo¡¦ and ¡¥Encore¡¦ were heard resonating in the hall!

At last we came to the most exciting moment ¡V After the adjudicators¡¦ scoring, the result was announced. We were all delighted as the winners of the competition came to the stage.

We thank all the contestants for their outstanding performances!
