"The Music Contest is about to begin." After the introduction to the programme, the School Hall was filled with excitement and charged with an exhilarating atmosphere. Everyone sitting in the hall couldn¡¦t wait to watch this marvelous show, one of the annual big events that is held in MST.
On February 1st, 2008, the Music Contest began with some great instrumental performances. We were all very amazed by the outstanding talents of our schoolmates. They played the piano, the violin and the harmonica just like world-class professional performers! Even Form One students performed, too. A little boy who played the harmonica very well was named "the King of the Harmonica" thereafter.
Following by the instrumental segment, the solo singing competition started. Audiences were extremely thrilled as friends of theirs performed on the stage. Gazing at the performers¡¦ gorgeous outfits and listening to their angel-like voices, the whole audience was possessed. As the contest proceeded to the group singing competition, students were even more ardent. "Sevens", formed by seven graduating 7C students, was the climax of the show with their sophisticated dancing skills.
Although all contestants had already performed their masterpieces, the show didn¡¦t end, continuing with more fabulous and stunning performances. The first one who performed for us was Mr. Kwok, who sang two renowned pop songs. This was really a moment of extreme joy and exaltation. What came next was a band show by our graduates. Their music really touched us and some of us even stood up and danced with the music! Finally, there came a moment of silence as it was time to announce the results of the competitions.
Just as all the audience thought it was all over for the Music Contest, a group of SU committee members came on stage and danced. This drove our schoolmates to even higher levels of ecstasy and gave a perfect full-stop to this unforgettable event. Congratulations to all the winners and our thanks to all the participants! We believe that they all really deserve prizes for their great efforts.
