In the Easter Service, which was also the S.5 Graduation Assembly, we were glad to share the joy of the resurrection of Jesus Christ but a bit sad to see our senior schoolmates graduate, leaving us to sit for their first pubic exam.
The service started with beautiful songs and a nice prayer. Then we were honoured to have invited Ms Ma Mei Nor, the Pastoral Care Assistant of S.K.H Good Shepherd Church to share with us some important messages about Easter, as well as her husband's story. The moving story was told to tell us that our Lord is always ready to help us whenever we need Him. Moreover, we should be grateful for the amazing grace and help from the Lord when we get stuck in trouble or failure. We have learnt that life journey is like a voyage across an unpredictable ocean. When we sail through a stormy sea, Christ the Lord is like a lighthouse, which offers guides for safe navigation. If we believe in Him and rely on Him, He can always lead us through the rough sea safe and sound.
After the touching sharing, the hall was filled with a heart-warming ambience. Our senior schoolmates, S.5 graduate representatives, gave their speeches about their school life and feelings of their teachers and classmates. Then they presented their heartfelt tailor-made gifts to their beloved class teachers on the stage and the rest of the teachers also received a present especially chosen for them. This special gift included a memo pad, a red ballpoint pen and a stick of chalk with a chalk holder. Seeing this scene, we had a scenario popped up in our mind. Two years later, we will become S.5 graduates. We might be the representatives crying on the stage, giving our warmest gifts to our family-like teachers. Despite the reluctant departure, we think we would perform our best in our public exam.
Lastly, the ceremony ended in the song 'May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You'. This song was particularly appropriate on this occasion because its lyrics are so meaningful. I have been inspired by these two lines, 'Fill your dreams with sweet tomorrows. Never mind what might have been.' In our life, there are always a lot of unhappy things happening around us, like getting a bad result in tests or exams, not having any friends in class, and forgetting to bring textbooks for lessons, etc. We always remember the bad things we have had, but we never know how to cope with them. After singing this song, I have learnt from these two stimulating lines and now I know how to deal with my miserable experiences. For our S5 schoolmates, their experience of preparing for their public exam may be harsh and not very happy, but they should bear in mind that when their exam is over, their sweet tomorrows await them. We wish the Good Lord may bless and keep our S.5 graduates till we meet again in September.
