The Delegation from Indonesia

The Delegation from Indonesia visited our school on 27th September. The group is composed of officials, principals and teachers. The group was here for academic exchange. First, there was a seminar. They were told that our school was an EMI school and that students use English daily. Then, they were led on a guided tour of our school. They visited the Home Economics Room, the Design and Technology Room, the Hall, the Library, the MMLC and the Arts Room. They were very interested in the MMLC. As a student helper, I was told that there was a room in the Indonesian schools called the 'Language Laboratory' that had a similar function as our MMLC. The Indonesian students can use some computer software to learn oral skills. The Indonesian officials also told me that the classrooms of our school were a bit smaller than the classrooms in Indonesia. The group then went to see how our students were studying in class. They observed the Mathematics lesson, the Biology lesson and the English lesson. The delegates were interested in the Biology lesson in which the students were doing an experiment on 'food test'. Finally, they had an academic exchange directly with our teachers. They had an in-depth discussion on the teaching methods and other teaching matters. Although they just visited our school for one morning, both the teachers and the students treasured this opportunity to exchange their views. I have learnt a lot as well.
