When it comes to December, Christmas is in the air. Christmas is the day that honors and celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. It is the day for us to celebrate with love and joy, and to give our blessings to each other in this season of giving. The biggest event in school in that month was probably the Christmas service.
On 21st December, 2007, we had our Christmas service before our Christmas holiday as we always do. Early in the morning, some students had already arrived at school and began to decorate their classrooms with all the fancy adornments. After the bell, we gathered in the hall. There we were given an inspiring speech by Ms. Wong, our special guest. She told us about sending gifts. "Our present shows our care to the one you give". Sending gifts and presents to our beloved ones seems like a tradition. We do it all the time in different festivals. Have you ever found it hard to decide what kind of gifts you would like to send? Have you ever bought gifts randomly and send them without consideration? If you have, please don't ever do that again! For the most important reason of sending gifts is to show your care and love. Reminded by Ms. Wong, we realized that God had sent us the greatest and most amazing gift ever, his son, Jesus Christ, and showed how much He loved us.
The Service ended with a jovial atmosphere. With the lovely Christmas song 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas', students and teachers all gave their blessings to each other by shaking hands and wished the others the best. We sang and shook hands; we hugged, as if we were one big family.
Finally, students returned to their own well-decorated classrooms and celebrated with their affectionate friends and teachers. Mouth-watering snacks were all around the tables. Every single classroom was filled with laughter and music. Imagine how many parties were going on at the same time! A group of senior students put on their Christmas hats and costumes and visited all the classes. The Santa Claus was absolutely amazing! What a wonderful time we've had in school! We hope our students have spent the Christmas holiday with their family and share the blessings and happiness from God with them. May there always be love and peace in the world, and our hearts.
